Inspired by: Window Displays

You can find inspiration almost anywhere.  I find some of the best inspiration comes from just walking down the street and checking out various window displays.  Anthropologie is always a sure bet for seasonal window beauty.  If you are looking for inspiration for your wedding decor or a backdrop it might be as simple as taking a stroll through your nearest shopping district.

Love this Anthro holiday window

This could be cool for a woody dessert table

These lace ballons are amazing!

Even here in our little windy mountain town of Hood River you can draw inspiration from windows.  One of my favorites is the Parts + Labour store on Oak Street.  I always look forward to their seasonal window displays.  Well, I tracked down the designer Jessica Levin and she offered some great images of her work. She does photobooths and other design work as well - it's all fabulous! Check out more of her work on her new blog and if you are interested in a project I'm sure she'd love to hear from you.

Aren't these paper wreaths amazing!

Her pinwheels display might be my favorite - and she repurposed these for a photobooth

Whether you are searching for a ceremony backdrop, photobooth ideas or just general decor inspiration for your wedding look no further than the next window you walk by.

Owl Baby Shower Dessert Table

Remember my local cupcake lady I shared with you a couple of weeks ago...she put on the cutest owl baby shower and I just had to share it.  Owls are definitely a 2011 trend and I predict they will be making an appearance at a lot of weddings this season.

How adorable are the cupcakes?

Picture quality is not so great b/c they are taken with an iPhone but you get the idea!

I love the blue and green chocolate prezels - YUM!

My favorite - the cupcakes in the mason jars and the cutest owl labels!

There was even cotton candy!

If you are looking for ideas for your wedding dessert table or would like cupcakes and other fun treats for your wedding let me know and I'll put you in touch with Jillian (she doesn't have a website - she's just my super secret cupcake lady for now!)

Yarn-Inspired Cozy Winter Tablescape

Winter is still very much in full force here in the Pacific NW.  In fact this week we are supposed to have record lows and 2-3 feet of snow (great for boarding!).  It makes me want to cuddle up inside this tablescape again.  I've been dying to post some of the photos of our cranberries and cream, yarn inspired tablescape which was featured on Forget Me Knot Wedding a couple of weeks ago.  Rachael (Lace and Likes) and I really wanted to collaborate on a project together and probably more than anything just have an excuse to meet up.  We had a blast planning out projects for our table and having both recently moved to Oregon decided to focus on all things warm and cozy for our first winter.

We had planned to have the shoot outside and had all kinds of ideas for using the outdoor space but rainy weather forced us to stay indoors which worked out just fine in our cozy fireplace room.

We handcrafted all the goodies for our tablescape including the yarn wrapped bottles, the yarn/nail table numbers, yarn wrapped initials, lots of yarn poms, cranberry garlands, God's eyes and all the finishing touches.

The yarn wrapped bottles are so cool and it's such an easy project

We even made holiday sangria from Sprouted Kitchen - check out the recipe here.

These table numbers are quick and easy and would be great for a Fall or Winter wedding

And my favorite part - the smores and the Mexican hot cocoa station.  We gave our smores a twist with ginger snaps and spicy dark chocolate and used fancy marshmallows from 240 Sweet in salted caramel, bacon maple toffee and praline - YUM!

The best part is after the shoot Rachael and Noah and Keith and I all got to sit down together at our table and enjoy a nice dinner next to the fire and of course we had to drink and eat our props!

We had a lots of left over yarn that we had planned to string in the trees outside but since we moved indoors we created the coolest yarn installation that we hung from the back window.  We loved it so much it's actually still hanging up in the house!

This was such a fun project and gets me excited for the next one we scheme up together.  Rach and I are actually just starting to work on ideas for upcoming projects now so I hope to share a teaser soon.

Friday Favs!

Finally getting back in the swing of things and back to my Friday Favs!  There was a lot of love out there this week with Valentine's Day but since I'm not such a v-day person it's a good thing there was a whole lot of other inspiration too.  Enjoy and have a great weekend!

Always a big fan of a black and white wedding

The white pumpkins and the soft florals make for a beautiful wedding table

This circus themed wedding is AMAZING - and the parasols - LOVE!
