Wedding Trend: Moustaches

I was recently reading a post on Rock N Roll Bride about trends for 2011 and one of the ongoing trends they were highlighting was moustaches.  I thought this was a fitting post since my husband is participating in Movember - a charity event during the month of November when you grow a moustache to raise money for men's health and prostate cancer. His team name is "Keeping Up with the Moustachians" - clever.  Only one more day to donate!

I thought it would be a good topic for a post since moustaches do seem to be quite the trend with weddings these days and I agree with Rock N Roll Bride that I don't think they are going anywhere in 2011 so let's just embrace the stache!

Moustache Handkerchiefs - I could see some cute wedding photos with these guys!

How about topping your cupcake with a moustache?

Moustache pins might be a cute accent for a wedding

Traditional moustache on a stick - popular for wedding photo booths

Felt moustaches - a cute alternative to the sticks

And here are a few shots of the hubs in various stages of Movember!

Pre Movember - he carved his moustache man pumpkin

There it is - the handlebar!

My favorite - with the Selleck stash in front of the perfect mural

So...what are your thoughts on the moustache?

Friday Favorites on Monday!

I was quite slack on the blog last week.  Partly b/c I was enjoying my time off for the holidays and spending time with my family in IL and b/c I have been nursing a wicked cold.

Since I didn't do my Friday Favs last week I figured I'd kick off the week with some great finds from last week - lots of beautiful Fall accents and holiday tablescapes floating around for inspiration.

 Gorgeous rustic centerpiece

Pumpkin pie in mini jars - adorable and tasty!

I look forward to Kristi's homemade posts every Tuesday and really love this one

Everyone should get married in the Fall!  Loving these warm autumn details

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday.  Now it's on to decorating for Christmas.  We cut down our very first Christmas tree this past weekend - can't wait to start trimming it!

Inspired by: Yarn

I have a few days off for the holidays so I've been crafting away getting ready for some tablescape fun with fellow blogger Lace and Likes.  One of the projects I'm working on has little pieces of yarn scattered all around my parents house.  I've been looking around for some yarn inspiration and there is no lack of it out there - so many fun things you can do with it.

Cool DIY yarn wood blocks

Even just loose yarn adds something warm and beautiful to this table

Simple and gorgeous yarn wrapped vases

This is a great idea for initials or how about table numbers?

Look at this whole yarn scene and the yarn wrapped candleabra

Friday Favorites!

My Friday Favs folder is overflowing this week - so much loveliness it's tough to trim the list.  Might be a long one this week but each one is worth it.

Style Me Pretty is always cranking out tons of wedding inpsiration but this week they out did themselves...the first several images are from some of their killer real wedding features this week.

This sweeping rustic Fall bouquet is fantastic!

Take the gift card mailbox display to a whole new level
This entire Fall garden wedding is packed with great ideas

Cute as a button cakes and a gorgeous Anthro inspired wedding

Cupcake Topping Bar - enough said!

Can someone do this project for me right now so I can decorate for the holidays?

Another awesome wooden ring - kind of like my hubs ring

Just added this globe chandelier to my Christmas list

These might make the list too!

This lovely bouquet and the whole rustic purple wedding reminds me so much of our wedding

This reminds me of an Anthropologie window display - I want to make it!

Of course this shower would be packed with awesomeness - it's a product of the Sitting in a Tree gals

Have a fabulous pre-holiday weekend!

Thankful Thursday

With Thanksgiving only one week away it's always a good idea to reflect on all the things that we are thankful for and that bring us joy.  Thank you Liz for sharing this idea - I love it so much I'm borrowing it from you and putting you first on my list.

1) For the amazing group of bloggers and regular followers/commenters that have followed my journey, that are more like friends than strangers and that continue to inspire me everyday!

2) Our new home - beautiful Hood River, OR!

3) Our old friends who have been so supportive over the last year that has brought a lot of change and transition for us.

4) Brunch!  Enough said - who does't love brunch.  Especially one that comes with a mimosa (or bloody mary) bar.  (Keith and I are some brunchin fools)

5) Wood burning fireplaces - we were so lucky to get a rental house with one and listen to the crackling sound of wood burning almost every night.  And we just bought a sweet chiminea for the backyard too.

6) Sunshine - I think I appreciate it that much more now that we've moved from Florida to Oregon.  It might be somewhat less frequent but the way it dancing across the different landscapes here is that much better!

7) Grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup.  Did you know there is an entire food cart in Portland dedicated to grilled cheeses? I just realized that's the second food related thing on my list.  Oh well, what can I say - I like food!

8) Pedicures.  I have to say, I'm a barefoot girl and really love myself a pedicure.  Although now that I live in OR those little piggies are covered in furry boots a lot.

9) This guy!  For being my partner, my team mate and my friend.  For always listening to my crazy ideas and helping me execute them.  Thank you for being my Tony Danza the past few months.  I love you and I appreciate you!

10) Our families and "home for the holidays" - we head out tomorrow for sweet home Chicago!

What are you thankful for today?
