Lost Lake Photo Session

I am so thankful to be living in a place that is so beautiful.  Lost Lake is practically our backyard.  We've been camping and hiking there already and it's one of the most beautiful and photographed lakes in Oregon.  And judging from this "day after" photo session you'll see why!

Blaine and Bethany are extremely talented Hood River area photographers and they are pretty awesome couple to boot - which is important when you are spending your entire wedding day with your photographers!  You've probably seen some of Blaine's other work featured on my blog from his amazing daily photo blog Beautiful Hood River.

You can see clear to the bottom of Lost Lake

Wow...that view of Mt. Hood is killer

This one is my favorite - taking the plunge

Thanks Blaine for sharing these gorgeous shots!

Harvest Bouquets

Now that fall is here I think of harvest season and with harvest season I think of bountiful fruits and vegetables.  Why not incorporate them into your bridal bouquet or centerpieces?

This bouquet with purple artichokes was always in my top "inspiration" file for our wedding - gorgeous!

How about some cherries?

More beautiful artichokes

This bouquet with multi colored carrots is so much fun!

Or maybe some apples?

What do you think about adding some fresh harvest veggies to your bouquet?

Real Wedding: Michelle and Graham's Vintage DIY Farm Wedding

From the moment I saw the teaser photo for this wedding on Jessica Watson's blog I knew I was going to love it and have to share it with all of you.

This awesome DIY wedding was held at a private farm in Troutdale, OR - streamers, poms, pinatas and choreographed dances - so much fun!

I love the vintage style of the entire wedding party.  Michelle actually wore her mother's wedding dress.  Her side swept twisted bun with flower hair piece tied her beautiful look together perfectly.

What a great shot through the streamers - ribbons are a fun and easy way to make a big statement.

Her earthy bouquet is one of my favorites with its green, ivory and brown and variety of textures.
The best part - her friends made it!

Always a beautiful moment

So sweet - I can definitely relate to this shot and all the emotion that is running over you as you are hearing the words of his personal vows to you.

The grounds at this farm are a gorgeous setting for a wedding ceremony!
All the colorful streamers and poms add such a festive vibe.  The bride, groom and their family made all the poms just days before the wedding.

My absolute favorite coming back down the aisle shot!

The vegetable inspired DIY seating chart was the perfect touch for this farm wedding.

Bride vs Groom pinata bashing - awesome!

The bridal party even did a choreographed dance - you can see the animated kick line on Jessica's blog

From the bride: Our two friends who also did all of our flowers choreographed a dance. Graham and I combined two songs we liked, then gave them the music about a month before the wedding. We rallied 12 friends and made at least two rehearsals mandatory, but everyone was awesome and came to at least three.  I think we had four total rehearsals before the performance at the wedding.

Just a little grab...

A big thanks to Jessica for sharing this super fun wedding with us!

Giveaway: Lace Doily Luminaries

Did you see our wedding details post on Monday??  If so you might have seen these lacey luminaries we had lining the fireplace mantle at our wedding.

These are a gorgeous additional to any tablescape whether for a wedding, bridal shower or just a dinner party.  I found them through Etsy shop, My Haley Girl, who makes all kinds of beautiful wedding accessories including hairpieces/headbands, flower girl buckets and ring bearer pillows.  She made the doily luminaries for her own wedding and decided to start selling them through her shop

Erin from My Haley Girl is letting me give a set of these beauties away so make sure to comment below and tell us how you would use them.  I can't wait to fire them up at my next dinner party and light up the room with their loveliness.

Just comment below and if you are a follower of Bridalhood that counts as a double entry!

Good luck and I'll annouce the winner this Sunday...and be sure to check out My Haley Girl for other unique accessories.  I especially love her hippie headband!
